Highly highly recommendThis is without a doubt, the best shampoo and conditioner set I have ever used on my hair. I have type wavy-curly hair with tight curls at the front of my face and in the top layer of my hair, and S shaped curls on the inside. This product is perfectly moisturizing for my hair and I just feel grateful for the day I decided to try it out. Highly highly highly recommend for any curly girl. Also, I think it smells like a heavenly sandalwood and I feel closer to my [ethnic and cultural] roots which is an added bonus for a brown girl living in North America. Thanks whoever made this!

NOT for sensitive skin, VERY dryingI wanted to love this shampoo and conditioner because I adore vanilla fragrances. However, while the smell is amazing, these products made the ends of my hair super dry and though I have changed nothing else in my diet, skin or hair care, I am finding that my scalp, ears and forehead are red and itchy after using this combination. As well as this though, I am also seeing that my hair is appearing to have a subtle look of buildup. I also want to add that I ordered this off Amazon and saw reviews stating the shampoo bottle was significantly underfilled compared to the conditioner bottle, and I found that to be true. I won't be purchasing this line again.
For reference to anyone looking at this review, I am a Caucasian with very fine, 2A hair and this product line was what had been recommended to me through this company's "curl quiz"

Best Conditioner I have ever used. Amazed.Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla moisture and shine conditioner is without a doubt the best hair product I have ever used in my entire life.
I have never experienced any other product moisturize my hair this well without weighing it down. It comes out silky, shining and it smells delicious. It’s also the best detangler I have ever used.
My hair is long and I color my hair a lot which is of course hard on it. This conditioner is repairing my hair every time I use it. Outstanding treatment for extremely dry and color damaged hair.

Waste of money, time, and doctors appointmentsSo i had high hopes for this product and was unfortunately let down. Its really difficult to find a decent shampoo for my hair in my area and found this line at my grocery store so i thought to try it. I have relatively sensitive skin and a friend of mine used to use this a few years back and so i thought why not since she has plenty of skin issues and it seemed to worked for her before she found something more expensive that she preferred. The first time i used it, it wasnt so bad. Not the best ive tried but it smelled pretty good besides a weird acrylic smell thats not so noticeable and the shampoo felt nice in my hair at first. The conditioner however didnt help at all. It dried my hair out really bad and for the past month since using it im so staticky because of the dryness my hair is a floating halo constantly. I look like i stuck my finger in an outlet! Everything i touch shocks me and only when i use these products. My scalp is horrible too. Dandruff doesnt begin to describe it, i have black pillow cases and when i wake up theres so much flakes its like im sleeping in powder and my scalp is so incredibly raw and sticky. Painful and itchy. And i double checked for allergies, went to my doctor about it and my allergies havent changed so it has to be the formula since none of the ingredients im allergic to. I even changed my shower filter just in case and zero difference at all. I called her after not talking for years to ask and she said the formula change which is why she switched. The pump on the bottles hardly work too its so hard to pump. I usually end my showers with a little bit of oil from this brand which usually did the trick to soothe my scalp and not even that will help. I have little bald patches from lost hair since using this and the more i use it the worse it gets. If you have sensitive skin i wouldnt recommend this at all. You get the same results from dollar store conditioner.. if not better. At least when i stopped using it the big scabs started to heal and the rawness went away a little bit but my hair is so brittle now. What a shame.

smells delicious, nourishingI have been trying for years to find a shampoo and conditioner to tame my limp frizzy hair. I took the hair quiz and got the Hair Milk Cleansing conditioner but my local Walmart didn’t carry it so I ended up getting the Black Vanilla shampoo and conditioner set. My hair has felt so soft and nourished. It has also been noticeably growing faster. I’m so thankful I found this system

Cheap formulaSo I’ve been useing this product for a couple months it was the best formula I couldn’t find and I loved it well now the formula is different and it’s not what it used to be before you guys launched the little mermaid ones please go back to that formula

Works wellI am a fan of Carols Daughter’s products so this was a great experience to try another line. I’m not 100% a fan of this particular sent but the products work well.
I will stick with the goddess line though.
