What is porosity in simple terms? Everything online confuses me!

ELLE SAYS:

In simple terms, porosity is how well your hair absorbs water and other forms of moisture (pretty much any molecule). When you have low porosity hair, your cuticle is tighter and your hair may have difficulty getting wet. On the contrary, high porosity hair has a more raised cuticle and has difficulty staying moisturized. For more information on porosity, check out this post from Hey Fran Hey on Transitioning Movement.
