How long have you been transitioning and what made you decide to do so?
I have been transitioning for nearly 2 years now. I toyed with the idea of going nature for years but I would usually give into the creamy crack within a few months. In October 2011, I finally decided that going natural would be my goal and I haven’t turn back since.
If your hair had its own personality, how would you describe it?
My hair has multiple personalities. It is wavy, curly stringy. I decided against the big chop..I just couldnt bring myself to do it, so my hair has definitely taking on different personalities. The roots are wavy, the middle is curly and the ends are stringy
What is your hair regimen and what are your hair care essentials?
My hair regimen is a good conditioner and a great moisturizer. I am currently in the phase of trying new products to see what works best for my multiple personality hair. What has been the best part and hardest part of your natural hair journey?
The best part has been not being so afraid to get caught in the rain...I even look forward to swimming now....I am no longer afraid of getting my hair wet. The hardest part is keeping that beautiful wavy, curly look..It is beautiful on day 1 but by day 2, I look like a bed head. I find myself washing and twisting my hair every other day just to have that fresh wavy, curl hair look.
Who is your hair icon, and why?
My hair icon is Diana Ross. I love Dianna's hair volume. It's gorgeous. It wouldn't work in my everyday life but I hope to one day "rock" that wavy, curly, high volume natural look..
