How long have you been transitioning and what made you decide to do so?
I have been transitioning for 4 months. I decided to transition because I haven't been satisfied with my hair regimes previously. I've never seen my natural hair and I wanted a change as I moved into a new chapter of my life, so why not start this hair journey?
If your hair had its own personality, how would you describe it?
My hair's personality would be stubborn, but since I've begun my transition it is becoming trained, healthy, and reasonable.
What is your hair regimen and what are your hair care essentials?
My hair regimen is a co-wash once a week with Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner, and a shampoo wash after every two co-washes with Madame CJ Walker's Vegetable Shampoo to rid my hair of product build-up. I also use castor oil (for growth & itchy scalp) and eco styling gel (to define my curls).
What has been the best part and hardest part of your natural hair journey?
The best part of this hair journey is seeing my hair transform into something beautiful and the hardest part would be remaining consistent with a regimen when I am not using a protective style.
Who is your hair icon, and why?
My hair icon is Raven Simone because the public and myself have seen her through her hair journey with her many protective styles to her full blown natural curls. She gives me motivation to keep going until I reach the result that I am looking for.
