I have thick coarse hair. After I decided to go natural my hair was extremely dry. After using hair balmb my hair was shiny and hydrated. I love this product and will it to my weekly use. A keeper for sure.

I usually am a Marguerite's type of woman however, the hair balm has me sold! I luv the super soft moisturizing properties to this plus I luv this rich pomade texture. Since the weather is now warm... I think I will keep it in the fridge to maintain the pomade consistency. It's amazing! ?

I use this everyday. The bottle is not the right container because it is hard to get the product out of the bottle. Please consider another way to get the product out.

I love the way hair balm makes my hair feel....since using it my hair has become stronger and longer but I becomes a hassle once it gets to the bottom....can you please redesign the bottle....maybe make the contents empty at the bottom? That would be most helpful lol

I have been using the hair balm for about 6 days and my hair sheds pretty bad every time I put it on. I do have relaxed, color treated hair and maybe this product is not for color treated hair. I would think it would be. I do like the softness and smell that it provides my hair. I pulled the box back out of the recycle bin to send it back. Maybe my hair can't take one of the chemicals in the product. I really wanted this to work.

I am between a 4 b and 4c, with a tight coil s pattern type hair. This product did wonders for my hair, especially after a twist out. My curls were well defined and my hair was very moisturized. On days when my hair needed a little life, the product gave my hair life. The only con with this product was at night when I took off a white t-shirt the collar was yellow. Maybe I put too much product in my hair, otherwise this is a great product.

Like another reviewer I read many comments stating that it worked well on their hair so I bought a bottle for my daughter who is multi-racial (Hawaiian, Black, White & Haitian) with beautiful semi-tight curls and dry baby hair. When I squeezed out the product to apply it to her hair out pours a weird grainy and oily substance with a strange smell. I don't know if it is supposed to be like that or it expired but it was terrible. So reluctantly I applied it to her hair anyway and it was not what I was hoping for. I guess on to the next one!

Love Love this product...It gives a shine to dull hair weather natural or after a great press and curl,. I am natural curly and I love to press and curl at times and this great product left my hair moist until I change back to the curly natural state. I purchased in July 2012 using here and there.You do not need much just a tad bit and WOW Moisture Moisture Moisture. However I need to replace the bottle due to my husband using it daily,,I let him try it and now I am out. Next time 2 bottles so I want have to share. When I need Moisture my product is gone because of my Hubby..Love the product..Great job CD...Never discontinue for my curls will surely die!!!

Hello All! I am natural and have very thick course hair and this hair balm softens my hair like no other without feeling greasy. When my hair is twisted, I apply it on every night and my hair feels so supple the next day as the balm does a good job with locking in the moisture (I spritz prior to applying). I recommend this product! It's a low investment and you can't go wrong as a little goes a long way. clm

I am newly natural (3 inch really dense/thick twa- 4/b,c i think lol) and tried two strand twists a few weeks ago with another product and it didn't work very well. It was frizzy and the hair didn't want to stay in the twists because its soo thick... Sigh... So I figured I would wait until my hair was a little longer. During the same week I ordered the olive oil infusion because i was running low and I ordered the liquid pomade so I could use it to lay down my edges without it being hard or sticky. Well, I got it and saw liked how it felt on my edges and decided to try the two strand twist on my head again using this. OMG, there were no frizzies and i barely used any of the product. Its shiny and soft too. Be careful It can feel a bit greasy if you overdo it. You don't need much. But i love love love the way it locked the twists down. I don't know if they meant this product for that particular task, but it worked out. The twists didn't unravel this time so thats a huge victory. Now I have another style other than my afro for now. Yay!!!

This product is actually better used as a pre-treatment before shampooing or relaxing. Before relaxing it is best to section hair and saturate hair from tip to roots throughout your whole head. This will act as a barrier and protect from chemicals. Also you can use as a pre-treatment before shampooing hair. Saturate hair with product and place a plastic or conditioning cap overnight then shampoo in the morning. Shampoos can be harsh so this serves as a protectant as well. This is best if you have dry and/or damaged hair. Love the many uses of this product. Just don't put this product in the hair after wetting it. Oil and water don't mix so it has to be in a dry state.

This is the ONLY product that I found that works on my 12 year old daughter's hair. I'm bi-racial (Portuguese and Black), and her father is black (Haitian, Jamaican, Puerto Rican). So, needless to say, her natural curls are very thick, and different than most. She has tighter curls, that soak up everything. Whenever she has her hair flat-ironed, I can use a little hair balm on it, and the curls will last for days...instead of dropping after hours. This is the only product that has allowed her to wear her hair straight and down at school...because I know she will come home and not look like she ran through wind all day! Not to mention, the hair balm has improved the quality of her hair (natural) and mine (relaxed), drastically! I HIGHLY recommend this product!!! (PS - when she wears her hair natural, we use the hair milk!) I like that Carol's Daughter allows my daughter to appreciate her hair straight or curly!

My hair desperately needed a product like this. It was soooo ridiculously dry! I used this along with the Black Vanilla Shampoo and Conditioner and I am impressed! Take note though, I used over the amount suggested on the bottle (hair is fine and thin) and my hair feels a bit heavy today. Next go round, I will definitely stick with what the instructions say. Other than that, this is good stuff :-). Great job CD!!

I love, love, love this hair balm! I use after every wash before blowing my hair out and sometimes between washes. The result is a super soft head of hair. I have relaxed hair and it keeps is from feeling brittle or dry. I swear there's magic in there because every person I let try some, says the same thing!

I would be lying if I said I'm not very hard to please with hair products, because I am. I think I have tried every product out there to make my hair grow long and I have drawers of full bottles in my vanity. I've spent hundreds of dollars and was never satisfied until I found this. This stuff is a miracle worker, and I'm not saying that lightly. I never write a review on any products but this deserves one! I recommend it to every friend I have (for every hair type!) It smells fabulous, and I've had the same bottle for almost a year now (and it's almost half full with use every day). It adds shine to my hair, and almost that little bit of weight you need to not get fly aways and to hold your style all day long. By weight, don't be frightened that it will add greece because it doesn't. I've even stopped using hair spray with this product because I don't need it! I don't even like getting my hair done at the salon anymore because she doesn't use this! I hate going a day without it!

I love this product, this is the one for me. I've used other products like the Black Vanilla Leave-in-conditioner and the Lisa's Hair Elixier and Tui Herbal shampoo, they did not work for me they made my hair look real bad. So I stop useing them. Then I start useing the Hair Milk curl perfecting shampoo & conditioner a long with the Hair Balm and the Mimosa Hair Hoey Hairdress. Now they work for my Hair. My hair is not relaxed, afther I shampoo and condtion my hair it gets very curley and frizz. I needed something that would get read of the frizz and tame my curls. Thank you Lisa for making a product that works for my hair. It is growing and it looks so healty now. It is the best keep up the good work.

I purchased the hair balm last year in October and I love it! My hair is healthier, shinnier, and smells very good with the hair balm. I was reluctant to purchase it at first because of the size of the bottle and the price, but you only need a little bit of it to disperse throughout your hair. Like I said, I purchased my first bottle in October of last year and I still have some left! (I use a litlle bit of it everyday) I am now about to purchase my second bottle!

This prouduct did wonders for my hair it smells great and it has really made my hair healthier feeling and looking. i cut all my hair off in 2010 and my texture changed . i always used the hair elixer oil . but when i started using both together OMG!. I am currently tex-lax. I stretch my relaxers for 6 months plus at a time. I use this product to soften my texture and have some shine. It makes my dull hair shine with a moisture that softens my texture. Also the smell is great tooooo meee! I love it! I bout this with the duo, My purchase was made in 2009 and its 2012 and I still have some product a good amount A little goes a long way. It has coconut oil so you have to warm it with your hands, holding it, when its cold out side. So the price doesn't disappoint me much....

I ordered Jada's Dynamic Duo and received it yesterday. I was reading the directions and noticed that the hair balm could be used on dry hair. I took a small amount, less than a dime, and rubbed it through my hair and wrapped it. Please keep in mind that I have shoulder length, thick, dry, relaxed hair. I noticed the smell almost immediately. It smells AMAZING!! As I was rubbing my hands through my hair, I could already feel the difference. This morning, I spent extra time in the bathroom mirror because I was shocked and amazed at how great my hair looked and smelled. I walked out the bathroom and my boyfriend asked me did I was my hair last night. I normally have to point out when I did something different to my hair, but he noticed at first glance! I have been relaxing my hair for as long as I can remember, at least 20 years, and never once considered going natural. Approx. three months ago I was given a bottle of hair balm as a gift and began using it twice a day, morning and night, and after the first day I noticed a remarkable difference in my hair in regards to its strength and durability. I then bought the Love my Hair kit which included Rosemary mint shampoo, Tui leave in conditioner and the Tui oil. After using the Rosemary mint shampoo the first time it almost felt as if it stripped my hair so much that I could not style it properly afterwards. I began using the leave in conditioner in conjunction with the hair balm at night before wrapping my hair and after the first pplication of the leave in conditioner, everything was back to normal. I began telling everyone to try Carol's Daughter hair balm, yes it is pricey, but the difference it makes in your hair is remarkable. I decided to buy my girlfriend Jada's Duo to force her to try the prouct and once she received it I applied the hair elixir to my hair, and I could not believe the difference that one application made. I used approx 6-7 drops and it woke my hair up in that instant. Since then I have purchasd my own bottle of hair elixir and the macadamia smoother, which is great on the days where a ponytail is in order, to smooth down those stubborn edges that want to go in every direction. Needless to say I have not been disappointed with any of the products, and I have been an advocate for all women to try Carols Daughter. What has impressed me the most is I have not had a relaxer in almost three months and was not planning on going natural, however the products leave my hair feeling so soft and smooth that I have not noticed the need to apply a touch up to my hair. It has left my hair so manageable and soft I could not ask for anymore value for the money spent. I will continue to recommend the hair line and will continue trying different products, including the body care line. Prior to using Carols Daughter I used a combination of Paul Mitchell and Redken products. There are certain products in their lines I will continue to use, only now I will use them in conjunction with Carols Daughter, until I find something in the CD line which is better than what I am using now, and I know it is out there. If you are using this post as a recommendation to start using the CD products, do not hesitate any longer. Never again will I be without this product.....One morning while preparing to go out, I reached for the (my miracle) hair balm. To my dismay, I actually had to turn the bottle upside down, shake it and who knows what else, in order to get a small amount to use. The bottle was practically empty!!!! Oh please, just let me get a dime size amount! (you don't need much)! I rubbed the product in my hands, and then applied it all over in my hair. WOW; What a difference! I was able to style my hair in seconds withou tugging or pulling. My hair was shiny, manageable and every hair in place. Again, I'll never be without it. I

The hair balm is great if you workout! My hair sweats a lot so I blow dry it after each workout and apply the hair balm at night when I wrap my hair and its back to normal! No more bad hair after workouts. The hair balm brings the moisture back.

The hair balm melts into the hair and creates soft manageable hair. A great way to get all of the product out of the bottle is: when you first get the hair balm, transfer the hair balm into a small tuperware type container and then the product that remains left in the bottle just microwave the bottle a little and squeeze the rest of the product out into the tuperware container.

The hair balm absorbs quickly into the hair; it makes the hair feel silky, hydrated, healthy. This is a great product to use for dry scalp & of course, throughout the hair. I find the best way to get all of the product out of the bottle is to keep the bottle turned upside down. When there is just a little product left in the bottle, I heat the bottle in the microwave for a few seconds and then turn the bottle upside down again.

I've been using the Margaurite's magic, which is good, but can get a git greasy if you use too much. This product is FANTASTIC. The smell is subtle which is really nice because I tend to layer my hair products. One review mentioned that because its so thick, its hard to get out of the bottle when it gets low, and I agree. the last bottle I had I cut in half with a box cutter and scooped it out with a spoon. So worth it. I use this on my natural hair and weave hair and both are soft, moisturized and shiny!

I adore this product! It creates such a beautiful shine that lasts, not to mention my curls lasting all day! I would have given it 5-stars, but the bottle is very hard to squeeze...maybe a lower density plastic would suit this product better sincce it is quite thick.

My hair is very very thin! I had been wearing my hair natural for a while and decided to get it relaxed. Love my silky relaxed hair but as I had gotten to my third perm I noticed my ends starting to break-off. I relunctly brought the hair balm because I assumed it would weigh my hair down. Boy was I wrong! My breakage has stopped nearly 99%! I am so impressed with this product I went back and brought another just to keep at my job. Its worth every penny! Thank you Carols Daughter! I've heard glowing comments about products from Carol's Daughter for a few years now and would often think about ordering some items but never followed through....until a few weeks ago when I decided to splurge. Now not only am I crazy about the hair balm but so is my mother (whose name is also Carol). Within days, we both noticed how fresh and health looking our styles were even a week after our last hair appointments. Shiny, silky and soft to the touch as we were continously getting asked what we were doing different to our hair. Now with my daughter also using it, one bottle can last about a month because it's not one product you have to use a lot of or even on a daily basis to achieve such stunning results.

OMG !! this stuff reallly works :D some products say they will repair you hair and leave it smooth but that never happens but carols daughter hair balm and the other products reallly really REALLY helped my hair and saved it. I love this product. I just bought it today. After washing my hair I used this hair balm on wet hair. OMG my hair was so managable and I have type 4c hair, natural. I could easily plait my hair. The braids are super soft, shiny, and look and feel soooo smooth. I have never seen my hair this soft and manageable after a wash. This one is a keeper. It made me fall in love with my hair again.

LOVE THE HAIR BALM!! THE ONLY REASON I DIDN'T RATE IT A 5 IS BECAUSE IT'S HARD TO GET ALL OF THE PRODUCT OUT OF THE BOTTLE SINCE IT'S REALLY THICK. I love this product, just don't like the packaging. When I get to the last third of the bottle, it gets hard and won't come out, especially when kept in a cool area. It should be in a jar.

this works marvelous wonders on my hair. it moisturizes but is not too greasy. It provides a perfect balance of moisture and shine.

This is one of the first items I bought by CD, and I LOVE IT!! I only have to use about a quarter size, (I have thick hair) every 3 days. With that, my hair stays shiny and conditioned and looks so healthy! This is great alone or as the Dynamic Duo. This is one Item that i always make sure I have on-hand and never run out of. I just purchased this product and I am already in love with it. The first time I used it I sprayed my hair with a little water and then put the hair balm on it and my hair was instantly soft and felt sooooo good. A little goes a long way. I would recommed this prodcut to anyone. A must buy.

This is the BALM diggity!!!!!!!! I love it! I'm transitioning and have straw curls. While I loved the look of the curls, I hated how dry my curls looked and the crunchy feel my curls had. I went into the Lenox store, one of the associates felt my hair and recommended the hair balm. I've been using it for almost a week and this is the first time since I've starting wearing the curls that my hair still looks good a week later! It feels and smells awesome. I'm excited to see how my hair will look after using the other products I purchased.

I purchased the Love Your Hair kit, and the hair balm was one of the products included. According to what I've read that hair balm is supposed to provide you hair with shine and lock in moisture; however that wasn't case for me. I will say that I have very course hair, and the hair balm did make my hair extremely soft; however it remains to look dull. IDK maybe it's the color of my hair.

I love that I only need a small amount to make my hair shiny and moisturized. My hair is extremely dry, so I combine the balm with the Black Vanilla Leave-In for all-day, every day hydration. Thanks, CD!!

my hair is dry and brittle. i use this with a combination of the elixer and my hair is shiny and more manageable. its also great with stretching. i bout it last year and I still have some product. A little goes a long way. Sectioning out your hair in four is the best way to get it through out your hair proportionately. Also the smell is very manageable, its a must!

This is my favorite CD product. It does everything it says. It makes my hair soft and shiny. I use this to seal my hair a few times a week. It's very thick so use sparingly. I'm not too excited about the scent but overall it's a great product.

i use it on my babys hair. she has natural curls, tend to get dry after washing it. This makes her hair shinny and soft. I only gave it 4 stars because it doesnt moisturize her scalp so i usually give her a hot oil treatment once a wk to keep her scalp hydrated. other than that its a good product

I've purchased most of CD's hair care products and the Hair Balm is one of the very best! It moisturizes very well, provides lots of sheen and instantly makes my hair more manageable. The smell is ohhhh so good. I would rate this a 5 except that it should be packaged in a jar like the Mimosa hair honey. I've had to stop buying the balm because it's too difficult to squeeze out of a bottle. I hope they're listening on this one and repackage this product!

This is my one must have product for my baby locs. I started my locs with two strand twists about 6 months ago. I have tried several CD products and this is the one I ALWAYS have on hand. It's sort of like a pink oil moisturizer but doesn't have that water-based creamy feel. It's so great on my hair that I use it instead of conditioner. I have coarse very kinky hair that usually doesn't like straight oil, but it loves this stuff. Pros: It leaves no build up. A little goes a long way. Shine/moisture lasts all day Cons: You may not like the smell (I don't mind it - fades quickly) Can be too heavy for fine hair Will turn grainy with excessive temperature changes. Bottom line: If you're looking for a moisturizer for your 2 strand twists, locs or braids that doesn't leave a nasty gunk behind, try this.

I am definitely a skeptic and I'm definitely one of those people who believe that since your hair is all dead protein, there isn't much you can do to fix it. I have TONS of very thick mixed hair, it's natural, I straighten it, it's 3b/3c in the front and more of a 4a in the back and it's around shoulder length. I'm almost 19 now and I started damaging my hair right around the time high school started, so my hair hasn't gotten past this length since and I've only trimmed it twice. My hair actually grows pretty fast so it's needless to say that breakage is my biggest enemy, I converted fully to Carol's Daughter in March and I'm never going back. I purchased Jada's Dynamic Duo, The entire Black Vanilla collection, the Macadamia collection, the Mimosa hair Honey, Kizzy's stay put hair Pomade and Marguerites magic. (Just Pre-ordered the Monoi Line :D)I use all of the products once a week as a system and I can honestly say I no longer shed like an animal, shedding and breakage are minimal. My hair would break EVERYWHERE! My floor would be covered by the end of the week. Gross, I know. Sorry for the Bio, but to know how a product will work for you, you have to know what you’re comparing it to. I can't testify for the effects of these products alone since I use a whole system but I use to moisturize my scalp and I use it a little to moisturize the full body of my hair, because it can be a little greasy. This product, along with the rest of my Carol’s Daughter System have left my hair soft, strong, healthy, shiny, manageable, moisturized and believe it or not, not heavy with product buildup

I use CD on my 5 yr. old daughter's hair. It works wonders. I'm been using the hair balm for about a year or two, and I'm going to stick with this. I usually switch over to some other kind of hair product, but this works great. It grows, detangles, and softens her hair. I'm soooo happy now, because Dillards carry Carol's Daughters products. The only little negative thing is when it's almost out, it's hard to get too. I usually cut it open, so I can get all of the hair balm out.

This product was OKAY. While it offered sheen as it stated it made my scalp itch horribly and the smell is something that you have to learn to love. I also noticed that for MY hair it was too heavy however, it worked wonders on my 5 yr olds hair and she had no complaints about it. I wouldnt use this for MY hair but definately for my little one.

My daughter is Nigerian-American, 6 months old and has hair like both my husband and I(two different textures and some parts are more dry than others). I use the hair balm twice a day: I put a dime-size amount in the palm of my hand, then I work it in her hair going from the root to the end, making sure i focus on the extra dry areas...her hair looks gorgeous. I use my fingers to work the hair balm in as I finger comb the hair to maintain the baby curls (yes she has naturally defined baby curls...which we were afraid of losing to a dry scalp inherited from my husband(ssh) but its no longer DRY). When we've had a long day in the car seat and the back of her hair seems a little more dry than usual...I use the Mimosa Honey Butter, part her hair with my fingers, oil the scalp with the Honey butter and bring it from the scalp to the ends with my fingers, then go over the hair with barely a dime-size of the hair balm (working it in from root to the ends). The more I stick to her routine, the healthier and TRAINED her hair becomes NOT TO MENTION MY DAUGHTER SITS ON MY LAP P-L-A-Y-I-N-G WHILE I DO THIS. She wears her hair down, natural, shiny and curly. BLACK WOMEN I realize we can say good bye to those days of getting "popped" for not "being-still" while getting the hair combed....THANK GAWD!

I've been using this sparingly for two months. It is a balm so it will make hair greasy if too much is used or if used too often. But it's definitely lightweight with minimal use. Provides just the right amount of moisture for my hair when it's looking dried out. I also like to use it around my edges when I press my hair because it protects from the heat of the hot comb, and keeps my edges straight for a longer period of time.

I bought this as a tester prior to ordering complete sets from the site. The smell is nice and even though it is oil based (of course) it is lightweight and does not build up on the hair. I use this on myself and my two daughters, ages Four and One. I have trouble finding products to relieve their dry scalp for more than 24 hours. I only have a four ounce bottle and use it two-three times a week after shampooing and when I braid their hair. As for my own hair, I went natural just months ago and have been avoiding paraben and mineral oil products. I use it as a pre-treatment before washing, and apply some afterwards. No complaints except I wish I would have discovered this product sooner! I have also gone on to order the Princess set for my girls, and the Best Tressed set for myself, and will continue to use the hair balm with both.

I did the "Big Chop" in August 2010 and I had a time finding products for my hair that would moisturize my hair and scalp without a heavy buildup. Many of the products that I used while having a relaxer did not work with my transition to natural hair and some of the other products on the market for natural hair were too heavy. Hair Balm is perfect as it softens and moisturizes my hair while giving it a nice sheen. It is light and also absorbs quickly. This is definitely a product I will continue to use.

After washing I apply the elixir while my hair is damp and let it air dry, then once dry I apply the balm to the ends. The two together work wonderfully, and the smell...yummmm! :-)

First off, I love the smell. I can't really place what it smells like but it is light and pleasant. The consistancy is soft and a little goes a long way. It is greasy on your hands so you SHOULD NOT use a lot on your hair at one time. Use a little at a time. I have chemical free, dry, coarse, kinky curly hair and just got it flat ironed. I used about a nickel sized portion for my whole head and then I wrapped it. The next morning my hair was shiny and bouncy. Love the outcome. Not too happy about the size for the price though :( It is a good product so I will have to think lonag and hard about a next purchase or maybe I will have to save up until then.

Since I have thin hair, I usually dont like anything like this product, but CD is truly wonderful!!! This product moisturizes my hair, doesn't leave it all heavy and greasy.I put this on my hair after I wrap it up, but before I put on my scarf , and in the morning my hair is shiny and beautiful! And it smells great!! I am surounded by people with fussy noses, but when I put this in my hair, no one complains! Too happy with this purchase! Thanks Lisa

I absolutely love the Hair Balm and Hair Elixir I've been using the dynamic duo for a few months now and it has definitely improved my hairs manageability. I use a dime sized amount on my hair after washing and before blow drying and also before wrapping my hair at night. I haven't really noticed any major changes in growth besides the normal growth rate though but hopefully that will improve also.

All I can say is this product is awesome!!!! I just got my products Friday and put it on my hair all I can say is high beam shine...Just a pea size will do. My hair felt so good. My hair drinked it all up. I would highley recommend this product.

I first tried CD products on HSN...this product alone , is the best product I have ever used on my dry,damaged, relaxed hair. I have a cabinet full of products that did not live up to their claims...just money wasted..... I ran out of this balm and my hair has reverted to the frizzy mess it was before I used the product.....I cannot say enough about the quality of this product....Like liquid gold in a bottle. I also use the hair milk......JUST ONE REQUEST... WELL TWO : make the hair milk and the smoothing balm a duo......and make larger sizes please CAROL'S DAUGHTER!!!!!!

I started using Carol's daughter two months ago on my relaxed hair. In between salon visits I shampoo and condition my hair at home. I used the jada duo to restore the moisture and shine. I have recently purchased several other products and will give review after use. It has improved my dry,damaged over processed hair.

About 6 mos ago, I started using the Elixir and hair balm, because my hair was terribly dry and brittle. Beauticians did not help, they even mad my hair dryer. I am so glad I heard about you on the internet. I have now started using macadamia heat protection gloss for the first time last night. I love the way my hair looks this morning. I am using all three and will never be without them.

After reading several reviews, I decided to try the hair balm and I'm so excited that I did. I'm in the process of transitioning and the hair balm makes my hair super soft and shiny. After I wash my hair and while its still wet I put about a dime to a nickel in my hair-use sparingly because a little goes a long way. I focus on my scalp and the back of my neck where I usually got HUGE hair knots before CD. I also use it daily-just a little to freshen my curls, its not greasy at al. Its also nice on my skin because it makes it feel like satin. I love the soft earthy smell.

I have had the best time using the hair balm! it works wonderful! I bought this as the duo because it came as Jada's dynamic duo... It works wonders on my hair. I have shine and mositure... I love it! It does exactly what it says! Thanks CD!!!

I've used the hair balm when i was relaxed and now as a natural and I still love it. All you need is a pea-sized amount to give your hair a great shine. I also use it on my children. The smell is nice to me, almost like a chocolate scent, but not quite. It's hard to describe. This product is not a moisturizer and if you try to use it like one you will end up with greasy hair, but used correctly as a finishing aid it is the best!! It also lasts a long time.

After reading so many good reviews of this product (the wonders it worked on your hair and how great it smelled), I was really excited to try it. But I just don't get it. It made my hair incredibly greasy and weighed down and just completely changed how it looked - it didn't have any shine or softness to it and all I could do was put it in a ponytail and wear a baseball cap until I washed it out. I also didn't like the smell at all - it has a very herbal, "health food store" smell that I just didn't find very appearling. I actually decided to use a bit of Back to Nature's Silk Serum Drops and it worked so much better - my hair looked shiny and silky and got it's flow back.

Wow! What an Awesome product!! My hair was very dry and brittle from dying and getting perms! Thanks to Hair Balm my hair is now soft and lovely! No more brittle hair here! But not only that I had very dry hands to the point that it was all cracked up and painful! No matter what I used it wasn't helping! I have a toddler with hard to grow hair with a very dry scalp. I ordered the balm not expecting very much because I've tried just about everything. Well, I cannot find the words to express how truly in love I am with what this has done for my little girl's hair. In the few weeks since using the balm, her hair is shiny, moisturized and looking healthier than ever. I love this product! i have thick relaxed hair and this product works great to moisturize and soften my hair. I also use this on my 2 year olds hair after washing it. It makes her hair soft and shiny. I love it!

It reminded me of the Softee Indian Hemp grease but this doesn't have Peutroleum in it. Gives a great shine all day with the Mimosa Honey to hold in place. 2 yr old African american brown skin girl with thick dry and corkscrew hair.

This is a great product and it does more than just smell good. It softens my daughter's brittle hair and it isn't greasy. I have been unable to find anything prior to this product to actually moisturize her hair; especially if I didn't want to have a handful of greasy residue and ruined/stained clothes from the grease. This is product is perfect for my little girl's hair. I am more than satisfied, I am amazingly pleased. I used the Black Vanilla Herbal Shampoo and Black Vanilla Leave-In Conditioner prior to the Hair Balm. All products have a great smell and allowed me to do my daughter's hair with ease.

I decided to try hair balm because I was sick of using drug store hair dress that's filled with chemicals. I used it for the first time today and was very pleasantly surprised. It smells great and the texture is incredibly light. I have somewhat fine ethnic hair so heavy conditioners weigh me down. I found that this product left my hair incredibly light, bouncy, and full of volume. Be careful not to use too much, because it is very oily. The price point is great because a little bit goes a very long way. I can't wait to see if the condition of my hair improves over time. I highly recommend!

I liked the hair balm the first couple of times i used it. i notice it works better after me getting my hair set but after a while it started to make it greasy..maybe i was using too much...I guess it depends on your hair texture at the time because it made my mothers hair frizz and she never has that problem. but overall it is a good product i wouldn't use it again though...Smells nice :)

Love! Love! Love! This stuff is...DA BOMB! I am currently growing out my relaxer. The texture of my hair had changed drastically. My hair was dry and crunchy. I absolutely LOVE this product!!!! I usually wash my hair every week because it would start to itch like crazy but after using Hair Balm my hair doesn't start to flake so quickly and it adds shine and softness to my hair without being greasy!! I am in love with this product. I grew out my relaxer last year with the help of all of CD's products. My hair is now longer and stronger than it was before I had a perm. I use the hair balm lisa's elixir hair milk tui hair oil Khoret Amen Shampoo hair butter hair mimosa etc... I live in Tampa and near the beach so the humidity gets horrible and my hair gets coarse so the perm doesn't last. Plus I'm military and my hairline has to endure the hats all day everyday. I started using the hair balm and the elixir at the beginning of summer. I used it every day morning and night and wore my hair in a pony tail. By the end of the summer no one could believe how much my hair had grown fom June to August! I love ALL of Carol's Daughter products.

I usually ordered the hair milk for my daughter's and decided to order some products for myself as well. The hair balm was one of them OMG I love this product it is so rich so a little goes a long way and the SMELL ladies the smell is enough to make yoy want to eat it. By the way my Boyfriend started using it and asked me to order one for him too. The 4 o.z bottle is not enough they need to start making them in the 8 o.z bottles.
