I thought wearing wigs would protect my hair, but it is now broken so badly I don't know what to do. Help!

DIANE SAYS:

Wigs are fabulous and fun! It’s especially great to protect your natural hair from overuse of heating tools and when you want to transition. If you’re transitioning and even if your hair is totally natural, co-washing will never provide the cleansing, hydration and deep penetrating condition that your hair requires. Co-washing with conditioner and/or leave-in conditioners are just for co-washing. Conditioners must be used in-between regular weekly shampoos and conditioners. All textures require either hydration and moisture and if you are shedding then your hair requires repairing and revitalizing. I suggest you start a new regimen, while you continue to where your fabulous wigs. First start with repairing your breakage with the Monoi Repair Collection and apply the Monio Mask once per week until the breakage stops. Then, you can start a weekly maintenance regimen with the Black Vanilla Collection for hydration.

For preventive measure, start a monthly regimen with the Olive Oil Infusion Kit, which is a pre-shampoo oil treatment and hair moisture conditioning treatment that will provide extra moisture and softness for your tresses while you protect your hair with wigs. Also, apply a dollop amount of Marquerite’s Magic hair cream on your hair and massage it with a wide paddle boar bristle brush before you create medium to large cornrows in your hair. Then, cover your head with a wig net cap and place your fabulous crown on and sport your look knowing you are protecting your healthy hair in style!
